Vi$ta networking: Local Only

Anyone knew how to disable Vi$ta from trying to guess the type of 
connection I was trying to set up from the IP & gateway address I
specified in TCP/IP properties of the wired LAN card?

That is, always use the "Private and Internet" mode.

I did a bit of google-ing... it seemed that it's a real annoyance!
