I didn't jump in earlier because I've always disliked for someone who doesn't
know the answer to a question, to start suggesting alternatives. I didn't
know the answer, but now I'd like to suggest an alternative! :-)
I used VMware Workstation for ten or more years, but recently made the switch
to VirtualBox 2.2. Not only is it free, but it seems to work even better than
VMware. I've got two copies of WinXP running and also have used it to play
with Knoppix (I was experimenting with booting off of SD cards).
