IP cameras

Take a look at http://www.mobotix.com/eng_US/ We have around 80 of these
cameras reporting to a SuSE 10.x 7tb server via both wired and wireless.

They've been up for around three years now and the outside ones have been
exposed to -40F for several weeks each winter. None have failed thus far.

They have an embedded linux based processor, serial, IDSN and ethernet ports,
do ftp and all sorts of other neat tricks. They're relatively cheap and can
be put on a motorized mount, if that's what you need, and viewed, steered,
updated and/or configured from any web browser. They're not NSA, but they're
not crap either.
