I just installed an fc9 partition, and had similar problems. I use grub
(doesn't everyone? ;-) ) and installed it to /dev/hdb3, the root
partition for the fc9 install, then tried to chainload to it from my
normal grub install, but no go for some reason. So copied the lines from
menu.lst to my regular menu.lst, adjusted the device (detection was
different with fc9) and it booted.

However, the default vesa driver doesn't work with my built in radeon
video, so changed that to 'radeon' and now that works, but no text mode
(ctrl-alt-f[n]), just an error, input not supported. The boot process
disappears after a few seconds, showing the same error.

I used the netinst.iso, which asks for a repository, which I found on
the google, and it worked well. I must say, fc9 is pretty, the gnome
look is nice. I've been using debian sid, and will probably stick with
it, but will try fedora for a bit.

Ken
