Configuration Management Software?

I've been looking for some software, however, I've been coming up
empty. Ideally, the software would "manage" the software on the
installed clients, and if the clients are not up to date, that the
software would ssh to the client and do a yum -y update to the local
yum repository. I'm not looking for the Hyperic/OpenNMS type of
software at this point in time, because I've got a good management
system in place. I've looked at cfengine, but, I'm not entirely
convinced that cfengine fits my needs.
Idealistically, the software would also manage my DNS records, give me
the ability to "push" a software update to my clients, manage the end
system's firewalls, and give me the ability to PXE install a new
server and have it completely managed by the system. Bonus points if
it has an API that I can use to script my changes with my favorite
language of choice.
Has anyone come across F/OSS software that fits my needs, or is this
going to have to be something that I write?

Solving site load issues with database replication is a lot like
solving your own personal problems with heroin -- at first, it sorta
works, but after a while things just get out of hand.
