Back to the basics. A retired school teacher friend of mine received a
laptop with Vista on it UGH!  I wrote her and told her I'd ask my
esteemed group of techies what the glitches were when installing Ubuntu
8.04.  I 'membered when it first came out there were some work a-rounds.
Have they been fixed?  This gal may be a "convertible".  She's pretty
bright.
