Echoing Bill Campbell's post, old and crufty eDesk 2.4 can keep an old
PC out of the land fill. A few years ago I installed it on an old P
166 system for an elderly neighbor who wanted to get on the internet and
type letters. IIRC the version of Netscape that came with eDesk was
buggy, so I had to update it. For word processing eDesk included the
limited version of Word Perfect 8, which the elderly user found to be
quite friendly after a little bit of practice. And all of this on 64 MB
of RAM!
