New Desktop

I'm looking for some hardware recommendations for my next desktop.

I know that just about everything works under linux these days, and
I'm maybe looking to spend about $1800-2000 for a nice desktop.

What's your setup?  I'm not a gamer, and don't need anything too
crazy, but, I'd like something nice for compiz/fusion eye candy.
