With SuSE the key is to use YAST for package management.  It will fetch 
dependencies and set up the package(s).
So start YAST, hunt down the package you want, and let it do its thing.  
If you have used Synaptic (Debian) you should feel right at home.

I like SuSE, although I don't care for the company it keeps now.  My 
next rain day project is installing 10.3 64 bit.
