The way we used to do in Windows, and it's been a long time since I've
had to do this, was to setup a PCL printer that sent the output to a
file rather than an actual printer.  Then you simply print your
document to that printer and the resulting output file was PCL.  I
would think you'd be able to adapt for Linux.
