I've never used VMplayer. But my experience with VMware server (free 
version) is exactly opposite yours, apparently. Not at all stable. And 
the Linux version is lacking some key features found in the Winders 
version. I've pretty much dumped it. Guess I was unlucky. Perhaps it's 
because I wasn't running it on "enterprise grade" hardware.
