Debian Etch vs Ubuntu kernels

A few weeks ago, I put up Debian Etch again for comparison to my
Ubuntu system. Most everything is OK except for sound. The Debian Etch
kernel is just old enough that my onboard sound doesn't work.

Is there a simple way to get the kernels (and just the kernels) from
Unstable as a work around? Yes, I know RTFM works, but a shortcut from
those who run Debian systems would be appreciated.
