Hey! I resemble that remark. I still prefer <TID> though.
To be fair, if you'll ride with me in the way-back machine, Tony had a
problem getting blag to recognize his harddrive during install. blag is
a small Fedora-based distro, with a bent towards audio/visuals. Nice
private little specialty distro, with a smaller mail list than here.
So, Tony not finding a solution tried to install Winders, just to see
what would happen and if it would find his drives. That's where the
Windows bit came up, as he had problems with that too. He asked a
question or two about it. Simple. Two OS installs, similar problems.
Trouble shooting with a shotgun, as that was what he had at hand to work
with to get his machine running, which we are ultimately all about.
If someone asks about installing Ubuntu, my "anti-peril" glasses darken
and I hit delete before I'm blinded, being a Fedora user. I don't know
squat about Windows either since 3.1, but if I only had a blag CD and a
Windows CD on hand, I'd try Windows **as a troubleshooting tool** as
Tony did, when blag failed to see my drives. That's all this was about
from my recollection of events and my perspectives. Check it out Lonnie,
you may owe someone an apology for having a perspective clouded by not
reading the original problems he had with blag, if you deleted them out
of hand, just as I do with Ubuntu, Debian, etc. I know nothing about
those install topics to contribute to them. So, I hit the "shiny
red-button" on them.
OTOH Tony could have used an aluminum baseball bat, after asking the
list where to smack what with it, reported the results, and no one would
have complained about him being off-topic. Go figure.
<chuckles hugely> :) Ric
