My parents were both UCLA Alumni (we became Brooklyn Dodger fans
because Jackie Robinson was a classmate of my mother's :-).

Fortunately they left California shortly after I was born in
Riverside -- something I try to hide from Washingtonians who
might think I'm Californicating the area even though I came here
by way of the East Coast.
