I run MDV 2007, I believe that you are running a security level that is too 
high for what you want to do.  If you set it to paranoid, then you need to 
lower it a notch.  Else just lower it a notch.  You can go into the Mandriva 
Control Center and under Security, you can set this.  There are more settings 
in there as well.  You might find what you want in there.
