I went to a long chat with tech support for a notebook. I understand
that the technician has to go thru all the questions and steps, so I
have to be patient. But she asked me to download the Windows driver when
I cannot even go to the BIOS set up.

I explained that even if the Windows driver can fix the problem under
Windows, then how  I go to the BIOS settings if I need.

Then she asked "so the problem is that you cannot use the key F2 ?"

What a day !
