If you can't call up a console... reboot into single user mode... hopefully 
you're using grub (never touched suse...) . After rebooting, remount as rw, 
change init 5 to init 3 in /etc/inittab... sort out  your xserver problems 
then re-edit /etc/inittab so you're back to init 5...
