Yes!!  Every time I boot linux, the dude's name pops up as the messages 
scroll by.

However, it seems as though the controller is recognized well before any 
kernel is booted.  I see notes on the display that the SCSI controller 
is recognized by BIOS, and tells me how many disks there are, and then 
finally my chain loader kicks in and I pick a partition to boot.
