Works well through one wood floor in our place, and can still barely see 
the other router in our garage one floor below.  Garage has lots of 
metal.  Can always add an antenna pointing "down".  Or use a "bridge" 
like we do.  Router to the cable in the garage, bridge 50 ft away in the 
house sees the garage router, wireless cards see either the bridge or 
the first router.
