The first question would be: would you waste pecan wood and not just use
mesquite? 

Second would be the preparation. The thick skinned  would require either
skinning or a liberal application of Easy-Off to soften the skin and
defloculate the hairy beast.

Third would be the cooking time. I would suggest plenty of ventilation
to relieve the potentially explosive gases, slow cooking after a
suitable period of high heat to seal in the juices. 

Forth would be careful selection of accoutrement's. Something more than
Cole-slaw would be needed for BBQ'd Lawyer. Any suggestions?
