American (and Americans) is/are a complex topic. Your average Joe
Burgereater (or Joe Sixpack) wouldn't even have a clue what is going
on here. But there is also your Joe BibleThumper (more common but not
exclusively so in southern states) who eats this #$%@ up as though it
were the gospel  truth.
