YUM - Unpalatable

Ye
Unbelievably Bad Package
Manager

I HATE YUM

Why does it have to download a list from the repository,
Then download headers to pack into a transaction set,
Then finally download the packages themselves... Mean while, if you are
using any of the current gui front ends they appear frozen as this all
happens
What is it doing that wasn't done in a 1/3 of the time by the lamented
apt4rpm?

Why when you have already done 10 or more installs within an hour from
the same repositories does it feel the need to download the whole damn
`are you there darling and are you still up to date' set of files and
then labouriously load them from disk... Oh crap I hate this.

Someone enlighten me! I'm about to put a contract out on the developers
for making a monolith out of what should have only been a menhir.
Is it pythons fault ? Is python the java of Linux?

Why why why?
