Fedora Core 5 + Athlon 64 + Nvidia Motherboard

Hi all,

I've been thinking of setting up a new development system with the
following components:
- MSI motherboard with integrated LAN, audio and video and using Nvidia
chipset (won't be using the LAN part because I'll be using a NetGear
wireless card instead)
- AMD Athlon 64
- Fedora Core 5 (64-bit)
- IBM Java 5 SDK (64-bit)

Here's what I will be running on it:
- Apache
- Postfix (for learning purposes only)
- A lot of Java stuff, like Tomcat, Apache Derby, etc.

What I need to know is:

1. How well does 64-bit Fedora run on AMD64? I'm sure there are some
list members here who have already tried it, and I'd like to know if
there are any bugs I should be aware of.

2. Does a 64-bit CPU actually make any difference in performance? I know
that I should probably expect some quirks when I'm running Java stuff. I
don't think it affects web server performance at all, but I'm hoping
that it may speed up Tomcat and Java performance.

Any and all opinions will be appreciated!
