frame errors in ifconfig output?

I've googled a bit on this, and I'm not coming up with any clear
explanations.  Does anyone know what could cause frame errors in ifconfig
output?  While we're at it, can someone explain what could cause all the
other types of errors ('errors', overrruns, carrier)?
