My wife works in the security industry and the hysteria helps pay the

In any case, people in the US and Western Europe have it better, I
think, because the stuff from Redmond is not so prevalent there. In
Southeast Asia, after the dot-com bust, just about every network runs on
That Other Operating System now. Say what you like, but the recurring
need to reboot, patch, monitor and re-install servers and desktops keeps
a lot of engineers employed -- even former *NIX administrators -- albeit
in reduced circumstances.
