You'll be surprised how many people get taken in by these studies and
statistics (about Windows being more secure than Linux/UNIX). I know of
many IT managers who will actually quote this information as
justification for certain purchases, and some senior managers will even
accept the facts at face value. 

It's like the myth about the Inuit having 90-odd names for snow (turns
out to be false, or a gross exaggeration, see:
