Sadly, its slim pickings if you really want a company that cares about
Linux at all.
HP has alot of linux clues, but only on the workstation & server side.
Desktop & mobile products are all winders, all the time. Dell only
cares about Linux when some prospective customer with alot of $$$ wants
it, and that's never on mobile (laptops) devices. Apple's notebooks
seem to run Linux well, but you're obviously not going to get any Linux
support from them. Toshiba & SONY have zero linux clues, and to make
matters worse, most of their notebooks are highly proprietary beasts, so
you're likely to run into a ton of bizarre problems in Linux-land.
None of this is to say that you can't run Linux on most notebooks, but
there's really very little out there which is going to work completely
with a high degree of confidence in Linux. All I can suggest is go to
linux-laptop.net and see what the brave soles who have done on their
own, and hope for the best.
