Nothing wrong with sendmail.  I've been using/administering it for
over 20 years now.  When postfix matures, it will have as many
problems as sendmail.  Meanwhile, the standard remains sendmail.

I tried postfix once, but couldn't get it to do what I needed it to.
So after 6 hours trying, I gave up and had sendmail running inside 20
minutes.

Postfix still has a long way to do from what I see.

As for Man-wai's problem, check /var/log/mail.log (or wherever syslog
is sending mail messages) and you should be able to fix it easily.
It's not starting for a reason, and that reason will be logged.
