RMCOBOL is one of the oldest, and was use in the RealWorld ``accounting''
software over twenty years ago.  The versions used on Tandy Xenix had a
nasty habit of nuking their internal indices (I made a fair amount of money
with a program I wrote to reconstruct blown RMCOBOL files).

If I remember correctly Microfocus COBOL compiles to a pseudo code that
runs on any system with a Microfocus runtime.

My favorite COBOL was on Burroughs Medium Systems (B-2500->B4800).  I
learned on that, and though all COBOL was fully recursive (which caused me
considerable grief when I first ran into other vendor's versions :-).
