Thanks once again for all the info. I will certainly give dselect a
try. I have a lot of RTFM ahead of me, but it helps to know WHAT to
RTFM and what to avoid.
Now that I've settled on Kubuntu as my everyday system, I've had to
drag myself kicking and screaming into debian land, but it's well
worth the effort. I still keep up to date a CentOS4 system and an FC4
system to keep track of what Red Hat is doing (at work all is Red
Hat), but I only boot them to do updates. Fortunately, yum makes it
just as simple as apt-get.
