No, speed itself doesn't kill anything (any more than the gun in my
closet jumps out and kills by itself). If speed killed, all those
breaking the sound barrier would be dead.
I'm old enough to remember "speed limit" signs in some western states
that said RP (reasonable and proper). And if you felt 120mph was
reasonable and proper, OK (and I was young and dumb enough to want to
see just how fast my car would go). Just don't have an accident
(fortunately, I never did).
