Have you tried digikam?   I see that the E317 is supported but only in PTP 
mode.   This camera may need to be accessed in PTP mode as well but you're 
going to have to use something that supports gphoto2 in order to do that.

In otherwords, you can't mount it if it doesn't play as a USB Mass storage 
device.
