I hate to sound like that Dilbert character Topper, but really, that's
nothing! ;) I used to get that all the time in my last job! The thing to
understand is that you are probably dealing with a low-level engineer
who is baffled by the problem, but also terrified of his own network,
and afraid to escalate the problem because his higher-ups may either
ridicule him or chew him out for escalating every little user issue.
All this means the onus will be on you to prove that something did
indeed change and you will probably also need to provide a solution, not
just a log. Of course, forget about ever getting any thanks in return.
You'll probably see the problem get quietly fixed and then denials all
over the place that anything ever went wrong, and that you were just
imagining the whole episode or over-stating your case.
