For sure! But it's not so much about "recidivism" as it is about no more
victims as a result of recidivism. That's why my project OAR... a bunch
of them have little to no reading / writing / comprehension skills. "Use
computers!", I'm yelling. Maybe I'll have to get into their face and up
the tone to "Use GD computers, you nimrods!" <eg> ... and become drug
off to a bad place. <chuckles>
pssst... what they don't know is that I intend to let inmates direct the
thing, once I get a proof-of-concept up and running. The experts aren't
in the Universities. If they were they would have been insisting on a
fix to the "penal-system" a LONG time ago, besides... who are the real
experts?
Not some guy with elbow patches on his corduroy jacket, smoking a pipe
and residing in some sociological nirvana. Inmates can smell them a mile
off. They put up with me for my own experiences, the fact that I'm still
alive and I show up to share. It's a two way street. Once the "real
professionals" figure that out, and learn to practice the "perspective
taking" they preach about, this world can be a much better place.
Now that I'm stirred up, I'm gonna go beat the bushes harder to find a
replacement graphical team. The one developer I had never got it off the
ground, but I never panged on him about it as his heart was in the right
place. Ric
