Back in my sinful pirating days (Yoho!) there was some HUGE multidisk
business accounting package for the Apple ][. I cannot remember the name
just yet, but it was some big software outfit with an otherwise good
name.

They had that shrinkwrap agreement on the outside. People paid large
dollars for it and it would not work nor run at all. It became widely
known that it would not work, yet because it was opened, it was bought
irrevocably. So, we pirated the living Hell out of it. <nasty cackles
with a twinge of smirk> The idea was it wasn't true piracy as the copies
didn't work either, but someone could try to make it work, fail and you
would have 10 floppies to reformat and put space games on, making them
finally useful.

Our price was 10 disks of space games in trade. It was like Christmas
when they showed up! Now everything is free <sigh> and no more larceny
for the Irish! <g> Ric
