<Rant on>
In western Canada, we export oil. Each thieving oil company owns their
own oil fields. Saudi could burn up and blow away and that would have no
impact on our oil supply. Yet, each time a Saudi burps, our gasoline
prices go up. Our first major gas price increase was because the price
of oil dropped and they were loosing money on their oil. That was
followed by "the price of oil went up and now its costing them more for
oil." Then of course that lie was followed by " the demand for gasoline
is so hight their refineries can not keep up". A friend of mine has
worked for one of the refineries since the mid 80's has maintained that
they haven't as of yet reached 30% of the refineries capacity. The
price at the pumps is fueled by lies not by demand. I do not blame the
gas station operators (in Canada) for they follow orders from their
companies. I blame the large oil companies for their greed and the
gutless politicians for not standing up to them. Then again, why would
they for doing so would mean a loss of a lot of donations during their
election campaign. I find it completely distasteful that the greedy
b**tards are using the misfortunes of others to line their pockets.
