Hi Lonni,

It's the kernel update for FC4 and, yes, I'm running it on my ASUS 
laptop. I didn't build my own kernel, which is why I was surprised at 
the performance. It could be XFCE though ... but it wouldn't explain the 
speed with which it starts up and shuts down.
