I think that's a Debian thing as the grub.conf (er, menu.lst) has lots 
of lines like "Begin Debian Automagic Kernels List" on all my 'buntu 
boxes. Having kernel lines automagically generated sounds like a 
worthwhile thing, but I can't tell that they do anything better than 
RH/FC in that regard and without all the cruft. But it's no biggie.
