While I tend to agree with the comment about YAST, my experience with 
SuSE is almost the opposite.  I use SuSE for a desktop and only limited 
web and Samba server.  I have it up on four systems, including a laptop, 
and they all work perfectly (mostly).  I am almost tempted to give up 
Gentoo on my main system and the server.  The only error I get is one 
machine that goes to 100% utilization on X and nothing on the box 
responds, except across the network.  I kill the X process by logging in 
from another box and the system behaves nicely for another 4 - 20 days. 
  That same system had that problem with a few other distros, so I can't 
blame Suse.  I am using Suse Pro 9.x.
