True, but the fact is, Debian and RPM-distros are significantly laid
out differently. I don't care, it's as you said. If you know what
you're looking for, you can generally find it quickly.
However:
Runlevel 2 by default
/etc/network/interfaces
/etc/default
/etc/conf.d/
etc...
