Samba client shared folders in Win NT domain

What other domain-specific config entries are you using?
	security = domain
	wins server = w.x.y.z
	password server = *
	winbind gid = 10000-20000
	winbind uid = 10000-40000
etc...

What version of Samba are you using?  The integration/config/tools
experienced significant changes from 2.x to 3.x to make it all simpler.

Are you using Winbind?  If the users don't have a local account, joining
the domain isn't enough, Samba needs to be able to allow or deny access
to the users and groups.  If you want domain IDs to be used, Winbind or
some other ID management system should be used (LDAP/KRB).

When naming is configured correctly, "getent passwd" should include all
the domain users as well as your local IDs.

Otherwise, local ID management will be used.  This should be
administered using "smboasswd" et al.  (or "net" for SAMBA3.x)
