It may have started that way, but the CentOS4RC1 variant is very near
the same toolset and applications as FC3.
Just another note: the users for whom this is intended will not be
running servers or looking for the latest and greatest packages. They
will be entry level high school kids from an impoverished background
who may or may not ever have had access to a computer, windows or
linux. I'm thinking that the longer release cycles will suit their
needs, since they won't need to do much maintenance-wise other than
watch the up2date icon on the gnome desktop and do occasional updates.
If it gets more involved than that, the suppliers (moi, etc.) will be
available for consultation.
