fc3 - foreign packages

How do you folks handle those packages that Fedora hasn't bothered to
consider worth packaging? Example: phpmyadmin. I can't find that in
available packages, but then maybe I don't have the right setup for
yum yet?

It's pretty simple to download phpmyadmin and stuff it in the document
root for apache, but how to record this so you don't forget about it
later?

Just looking for a standardized approach for non-standard thing <grin>.

I've gotten spoiled by gentoo, since such packages are (almost) always
there, as I presume would be the case for debian except for the
ancient stable.
