Where does FC1 hide printer definitions?

Earlier I added (by hand) a couple of printer definitions to 
/etc/cups/printers.conf thinking that was the official place for such things. 
Later came back to find them gone and the file had evidently been re-generated 
when I made the mistake of using the GUI tool to reset a printer queue.

Where does RH/FC store its official printer definitions that it uses to 
regenerate printers.conf?
