I almost get visions of the Sahara from the above description. We have
been fortunate this year with a fair amount of rain and a fairly good
snow-pack last winter. I can only pray that you get more rain and less
heat.

At the moment we are being threatened by another source of heat, a
forest fire on the Westbank side of the lake. The one two years ago on
the Kelowna side of the lake took about 400 homes. At the moment over
100 homes have been evacuated here on the West side. The fire is moving
slowly towards us but still at a safe distance (if there is such a thing
as a safe distance.) The main electrical transmission line in in direct
path of this fire. At the moment there are three fire dept attacking
the fire (about 70 fire-fighters) and about 35 forestry with 200 on
their way here for the morning. The only blessing is that there is
absolutely no wind and god willing I hope it remains that way.
