Hello list,

This OpenOffice behavior has been driving me crazy for some time:

In Calc, ever try to plot a simple column of, say, 900 numbers? Such a
plot takes a couple of minutes to appear. Always. Every time. Every
version. All other aspects of these apps have reasonable performance.
But a simple making chart in Calc is not a reasonable proposition. It is
not just the initial making of the chart. Same thing happens when it is
resized. Just a simple line chart will show the behavior. Nothing fancy.

This includes: OpenOffice 1.3, StarOffice 7 (all patches up to #4),
OpenOffice 2.0-pre.  On all systems I have tried this on (SUSE 9.0/2/3
and Gentoo 2005.0),

I have been using other plotting software (e.g., LabPlot), but I also
need to be compatible with the great unwashed masses.

Experiences out there?
