The biggest problem I've found with the older main boards is
getting sufficient RAM into them to handle current versions of
Linux.  I've found PC100 RAM to be considerably more expensive
than RAM for current MBs.  SuSE >8.2 won't install on less than
128MB of RAM, and programs like KDE, OpenPKG.org, etc. get very
sluggish on less than 512MB.
