Gmail doesn't have the same flexibility that locally hosted email
products have, but it's a complete no brainer if you want instant
accessibility from anywhere with a supported browser (even from
Win$crap) and spam-free results. I've even noticed a drop in the spam
I get via my comcast pop3 site (I haven't subscribed to 100% of my
lists through gmail) now that the bulk of my mail is going through
gmail.
When I think of what I would have to do to put up a postfix [sendmail]
spam-assasin imap etc. site to manage my own mail, I just yawn and
login to gmail.
