I've looked into this a bit. The only distro that even attempts to 
"guarantee" compatibility with the massive Debian repository is 
Libranet. And possibly UserLinux (but that remains to be seen).

All the other Debian-based distros are pretty upfront that installing 
things from Debian unstable may very well break things. This includes 
MEPIS, Ubuntu, Xandros, and Linspire. I think the same is true of 
Knoppix, but I don't remember for sure.

Frankly I'd look at Xandros, Ubuntu or MEPIS long before Linspire, but I 
admit something about Lindows/Linspire has just always rubbed me the 
wrong way.
