Rick:
You can use any of the debian programs to up date this distro but it does
have some customized versions of some stuff also you should create a
non-root user for everyday use, as it unwisely uses root as a normal user.

Subject: Linspire add-ons
I have been considering using Linspire as my linux
desktop/workstation. But I have a question.
Linspire uses CNR (Click-aNd-Run) to add additional software
packages. Many of the packages are either freely available, or are
functionally similar to freely available packages.
My question is: Is it necessary to subscribe (~$50/year) to the membership
to get additional software or can I install additional packages from the
freely available linux software. Does Linspire have a package manager that
can be used?
Thanks,
~Rick
